Double strike at this year’s Juve awards in Germany

02 November 2011

At this years' ceremony for the annual Juve awards we succeeded twice: Linklaters was awarded Law Firm of the Year for both M&A and Private Equity & Venture Capital. We have additionally been nominated in the categories Tax Law, Banking & Finance as well as Law Firm of the Year.

Each year, the publishing company Juve celebrates the nominees with a splendid gala at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt am Main. The award acknowledges market-leading performances of both law firms and inhouse teams.

The statement of the jury stressed Linklaters’ exceptional team performance: "Linklaters’ current strength derives from the teamwork of all relevant practices."

German Senior Partner Dr. Carl-Peter Feick said that "We are delighted about the awards for M&A and Private Equity Law Firm of the Year. They acknowledge the outstanding development of the German practice and emphasize that Linklaters, besides its traditionally leading performance in the finance and tax practice, has ultimately joined the league of market leaders in Corporates as well. In the future, we will hold fast to our successful strategy of integrated consulting services stretching across practices, sectors and geographical borders."

According to the statement of the Juve jury, "Linklaters has, without any doubt, become one of the most important player in the private equity market." As far as the award for Linklaters’ M&A practice is concerned, the jury said that "they are the big deals’ favourite: ACS taking the majority stake in Hochtief, the scheduled merger of Deutsche Börse with NYSE, MAN’s acquisition by Volkswagen – Linklaters has always been involved – and continues to do so."

Linklaters was recently named German Law Firm of the Year at the Chambers Europe Awards 2011. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Weiss was awarded Managing Partner/COO of the Year in the category management at this year’s PMN (Professional Management Network) Awards, which took place in September.
